THANKS, MOM, FOR MY BEING HUMBLE AND KIND

“I think of my mother, how hard she worked, the struggles she went through in her life, and the sacrifices she made. And at the pride that she must feel in the legacy that she has created with all of her grandchildren”.
Thanks to her Italian roots, to her typical Italian attitude to endure, Tim has become a selfconfident man. And his life is the proof.
Tim McGraw is the son of teenage parents, but he owes everything he is to his mother, Betty Ann D’Agostino. When she got pregnant her parents sent her from Florida to Louisiana to live with some relatives of theirs.
His father, a rising baseball star at that time, never cared about him too much. Actually, Tim was raised believing he was the son of Betty’s husband. Even when he discovered the truth, and his father had become a famous pitcher, they didn’t always get along together.
Tim changed his surname to match that of his biological father, but still considers his stepfather as his his true dad. And, most of all, Betty has always been there. And that was enough: “I’ve always been surrounded by strong, thoughtful and compassionate women. I’m used to it since I was a child. That’s why it’s the same now, in my own home with my own family”.
Caring about your child is the most important lesson Betty taught to him: “We’re parents first, and once you have kids, everybody knows that you have priority lists. Number one is your family and everything else just kind of finds its place”.
